Who was the last California Senator to fit your description of “A true Constitutional Conservative”?

Something I have wondered. By my read, most of the Republican Senators in California’s history have come from the liberal wing of the party—my guess would be that Nixon would have been the most conservative Republican Senator in CA history—and Nixon wasn’t that conservative. Do you have any other possible candidates? I suspect that the most conservative senators in CA history came from the Democrats back when the Deomcrats had a conservative wing.

Nixon was NEVER a senator! In the house, then VP under Ike. But you should also know...He was about as much a RINO as McStain!

Conservative Senators from CA, Hmmmm...George Murphy might qualify. Hayakawa did OK, considering his background, That's about it for my lifetime, and I voted for Goldwater....
