They are not muslims. That part is true. Some are from Europe. That part is true. How ‘bout many are from Russia—not ‘western’, many are from the middle east—also not ‘western’. Incidentally, I have no ‘problem’.I just never thoght of Israelis as western. Either have historians. Being a US ally does not make a people ‘western’.
Russia is considered Westren re ethnicity (it’s where the term “Caucasion’ comes from). Only a teeny tiny monority of Israelis are of middle eastern origin.
THey are mostly transplanated Europeans, which is why Israel has developed from a desert backwater into what it is today.

I guess its a matter of perspective. To a Russian, the CHinese are Eastern.
From the way I personally view things, I consider contemporary European Jews and Russians as Westeren as opposed to Islamics who I think of as Eastern, but then Muslims are not Easterners in the same sense as Chinese or Japanese.
How about ASian Indians? Are they really Easterners??
Maybe cultural perspectives are more accurate than just geography.
