I live in VA, the federal worker capital of the world and I can tell you that 75% of federal workers wouldn’t last 10 minutes in the real world. They are worse than useless, they are users and takers who contribute nothing. State workewrs are just as bad. I think that about 25% seek federal jobs because they’re motivated to serve their country in some capacity but the vast majority are looking for an easy way out and unwarranted job security.

I'll trust you. You live there
A lot of the big celebrity chefs are thinking about opening up a restaurant in the DC area. They never would have bothered previously but there is so much money there and in the its suburbs. The DC+ suburbs are recession proof. Always good times there

All due to overtaxing the rest of the country and trying to insert Federal governance into areas traditionally left to the states. The Federal Mandarins want to make the states their stooges and gofers

Unfortunately you are right about many government workers. I have worked for a state agency for 32 years. But what I do is unlike what most workers anywhere do. I work with developmentally disabled adults who have been put in an institution rather that go to jail. I haven’t always worked with this particular population. I spent many years working with what we call “low funtioning” individuals, people with IQ’s below 50. This wasn’t what I wanted to do. But the simple fact is that there aren’t that many jobs available and this one is very challenging. I doubt that most people in the private sector would last very long in this field. The thing that I have had to deal with over the years are not the sort of thing that most people would want to even hear about let alone experience. So enough with the bashing of other people to make yourselves feel good. The Republicans and the Democrats have sold us out to China and we are starting to feel the crunch. We need to bring back real opportunity and drop all this socialism, NOW!
