Good point. In fact it’s such a good point, you have me wondering if a leftist activist is indeed embedded in the Murkowski campaign.

People seem to be attached to the “golden mean” paradigm. They want a symmetrical political spectrum with the reasonable people—the moderates—in the center, and extremists stretching out in both directions, getting worse the further from the center they wanter.

This is buncombe. The spectrum runs from God on the right to Satan on the left. You can never get far enough to the right.
