Let’s not kid ourselves here, I’ll warrant quite a few offspring of said unfortunates know exactly what is going on and have no problem with it.

Not until it’s their turn, of course.

The same no doubt happens to the (unwanted) profoundly disabled, mentally retarded, chronically ill, etc.

It just won’t be as blatant as Der Fuhrer’s “Aktion T4”. The staff just kinda, sorta fails to notice that the patient isn’t eating.

I've worked with several nursing homes and found the smaller...more rural facilities are "in tune" with patient needs. The larger the facility....the patient more likely...becomes lost in the shuffle.

I have to agree that many of the elderly are almost abandoned by their children.....and it's sad. What goes around...comes around.

As I said before......if the patient qualifies...hospice services coming on board will assure the patient has extra care and the facilities become more diligent.... because someone is looking over their shoulder.
