As some wise person said, "the Constitution is not a suicide pact". Unless I missed the gist of this article, the entire point was that British Muslims used British freedoms against the British people to enact such things as sharia courts in a heretofore western civilised nation. Sometimes two principles clash against each other, and this is one of those times. That's when common sense-not to mention learning from history-comes in to play. Radical Muslims have become adept at misusing the very freedoms which they want to destroy in their dream of a worldwide caliphate, against freedom-loving peoples. We don't have to offer our necks to them by adhering to the letter of the law while allowing them to breach the spirit of it.

There is to much emphasis placed on only ‘radical’ muslums/islamists because there is no defining scale for what is radical up/down through ‘moderate’ to ‘absence’ of the hatred towards non-muslums as prescribed by their almighty Koran. People should know this hatred has been spawned from the root of Abraham through the branches of Sarha/Jacob and Haggar/Ishmail.

Wise? Wise like a fox perhaps. I'll wager it was someone who wanted to find a rationale to violate our rights. Politicians have always used catch-phrases like that to stoke up hysteria and undermine our liberty. If it is not the "suicide pact" phrase (a big favorite these days of those who want to throw property rights out the window) it is something like "everything changed on 9-11" or you "can't shout fire in crowded theater." Some of use don't compromise our belief in rights just because of the hysteria of the moment or match-book catch-phrases invited by haters of liberty.
