More accusations made in close Senate race (Miller V Murkowski)

SENATE RACE: Miller's camp says GOP group is preparing for legal battle.

There were more allegations by the Joe Miller campaign of ballot-counting monkey business on Saturday as the absentees continue to pour into the Alaska Division of Elections. State elections officials now say there are 23,472 ballots to process, with more coming, and the first count set for Tuesday.

Miller currently leads Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski by 1,668 votes in the Republican primary.

Miller campaign spokesman Randy DeSoto said in an e-mail Saturday that there are many calls going out to Alaskans who voted absentee ballots, asking them who they voted for in the primary.

DeSoto said his basis for making that assertion is that a woman contacted the Miller campaign about getting a call, that such a call was brought up in the comment section of a story on the Daily News website, and that several people had called an Anchorage talk radio show to say they've received such calls.

"I believe, and time will prove it, (the calls) are being done for nefarious purposes," DeSoto said in the e-mail. "It is definitely not being done by the Joe Miller campaign. It is being done, I believe, by the National Republican Senatorial Committee or someone they contracted with as the beginning of a legal battle to throw out ballots."

You have to have lived in Alaska at least 15 years and involved in some way with what the Murkowskis had a hand in, I’m only slinging mud off what has been splashed on me the same as if I went 4 wheelin at Jim Creek.

Sorry if it sounds vague and I understand everybody outside of Alaska wants more scoops and news I just don’t have any.

he Division of Elections said Saturday that it had 23,472 ballots to process so far. Most are expected to be cast for the Republican primary race between Miller and Murkowski, but a portion will be for the Democratic primary instead.

The tally includes 13,740 absentee votes, out of a reported 16,000 absentee ballots that had been requested. There are another 9,069 questioned ballots, some of which will be disqualified. Elections officials said there are also 663 early votes that still need to be counted.

The Division of Elections said it will determine Monday how many of the votes will be tallied in Tuesday’s initial count.

Subsequent counts are scheduled for Sept. 3 and Sept. 8.

Some are confused.. and suffer role reversals.. Like Joe is trying to steal the election.. Not Lisa.. Not all here are internet able.. meaning they hear rumor and mainstream TV coverage.. if any at all..

Alaskans generally are like trying to herd cats.. like FR(lol).. We keep most of our dumbocrats in Anchorage.. but the politics is getting so stinky even dimocrats are stating see "THINGS" a bit more clearly..... Who knows maybe even a few of the RINOs can be shaken out of their slumber.. and SLAPPED into lucidity..

Doesn't make any difference it's time for a change. The Status Quo is over.
The Republicans have become as corrupt as the Democrats, the values of Small Government, Limited Debt,Free Booting Capitalism and our foundation on Judeo-Christian Principles has eroded and needs to be reconfirmed.
Throwing out as many Politicians that have forgotten the Founding Fathers Principles is the only course of action left and yes it Starts with Lisa Murkowski and her Ilk.

I have lived in Alaska for 65 years and have worked with our Congressional Delegation for decades. I also understand that there are Alaskans that are good at mud slinging without providing details. I have worked with Uncle Ted, Frank, Lisa, Mark and Don. Please tell the goods you have on Lisa.

Now that's interesting. Do you supposed that means those ballots were put aside and never counted at the polling places? Or received in the mail?

Very confusing.

That’s good to hear! Thank you, dear hosepipe.

Joe Miller was on Face The Nation this morning.

He’s a wonderful conservative and a very smart and capable man.

Please tell me how Joe is going make all of this happen? Joe probably does not know where the bath rooms are in the Senate building and you think that the potential loss of a very important chair is not important? Why is this chair not important to Alaska?

Are you related to Lisa? I am not from Alaska. My guess is the republican who ends up heading the chair will do just fine. They will have two years to practice up anyway, Bambi will veto anything meaningful. That is a pretty lame excuse to me.

FR is not a court of law, your honor. Owing that you’re in academia, there was never a doubt in my mind that you were a Murkowski supporter. Uncomfortable truths were exposed about your friend Frank, when Sarah Palin defeated him, and now her endorsement has unseated his daughter. That is, unless Lisa can manage to swipe the election from Joe Miller.

You’re more concerned with Lisa’s chairmanship, than you are that she will not vote to repeal obamacare. Very telling.

You may be correct... I trust no one any longer but... GOD, Sarah, Rush, Mark Levin, Michelle Malkin, Glen Beck and Michelle Bachman. I certainly no longer trust any elected republican and all dims are my enemy. I feel better knowing the actual numbers breakdown on these ballots. Have a great Sunday FRiend!

The truth is out. You won’t have a seat at the table when Miller is sworn in. And you don’t like Sarah. Better just say that, your head of the committee crap does not fly with we who tote guns and cling to our bibles.

Well the Revolution has to start somewhere.
So your point is that the State of Alaska is better served by a Senator who will try and keep her seat by hook or crook instead of abiding by the election results?
That is like making a deal with the Devil, let me keep my corrupt people, you go somewhere else.
Change and I mean Real Change has to start somewhere, I live in Arkansas and Sen. Blanche Lincoln is Chairwoman of the Agriculture Committee, by your reasoning I should overlook her Leftie Liberalism and keep her on because she has that Committee spot.
Well no deal, if we as Conservatives are committed to acting on our principles and trying to make the change necessary to save this country and get it back on track then that means electing people that feel the same way.
Murkowski isn't one of those people. Joe Miller may or may not work out but he stands for change and a new direction and I trust that yes he will find his way to the Senate Washroom without too much trouble.

If you are a Lisa Murkowski fan, what are you doing on Freerepublic. This is a conservative site. Lisa Murkowski is no conservative, and I daresay neither are you.

Oh, you wanted the goods. Try this on for size, pop:

“In July 2007, Murkowski stated she would sell back land she bought from Anchorage businessman Bob Penney, a day after a Washington watchdog group filed a Senate ethics complaint against her, alleging that Penney sold the property well below market value. The Anchorage Daily News noted, “The transaction amounted to an illegal gift worth between $70,000 and $170,000, depending on how the property was valued, according to the complaint by the National Legal and Policy Center.” According to the Associated Press, Murkowski bought the land from two developers tied to the Ted Stevens probe.

In 2008, Murkowski amended her Senate financial disclosures for 2004 through 2006, adding income of $60,000 per year from the sale of a property in 2003, and more than $40,000 a year from the sale of her “Alaska Pasta Company” in 2005.”

The links are in the Wiki piece. Look it up. You live there (allegedly). Don’t you read your own papers?

Not related to Lisa. The chair of the committee is very important to Alaska. The majority of State revenue comes from oil. The present oil fields are in decline and we need to open up new wells. Only an Alaskan sitting in that chair will not trade Alaska's oil interest away to support other legislation. With out the opening of new wells, Alaska will soon suffer declining State revenue, decline in PFD, and a new State income tax. This is reality for Alaskans and Alaskans need to protect that chair. What indication do you have that the non Alaskan R that ends up sitting in the chair will do just fine? How do you know that person will not use the position to promote his/her state to the detriment of Alaskans?

Please tell what Lisa has done that is unethical? Details please or are you just throwing mud? I did not see Frank’s name on the ballot. Did you see his name on the ballot?

My respects to to for living here as long as you say, I am still called a newcomer in some respects and I have been living here full time since 1992.

I remember the day I drove my 1977 Chevie PU into Fairbanks direct from Lake Tahoe on a job offer from Jim Binckly Sr. owner and patriarch of the Riverboat Discovery sternwheeler based near Fairbanks, I was the chief engineer on a near identical vessel the “Tahoe Queen” in Lake Tahoe and I even worked on our local competitor on a smaller sternwheeler nearby, I had dreams of living in a frontier state with nothing but my ambition and faith in myself.

But it was march in Fairbanks the Discovery was on blocks, the Chena was froze over and the job offer was nothing but a whimsical ploy to a cheechako such as myself by a person who later committed suicide, facts which you might be very aware of sir.

So after sacrificing some very expensive Snapon tools I migrated to warmer and more populated Anchorage, I became a service manager at the now long gone auto service center at C street and Northern Lights, I even forget them now.

Fast forward many years, I found my niche in the concrete industry at a family owned outfit in Wasilla, I saw in the shadows the manipulations of what companies were given the concrete contracts, who was given favoritism. Fortunately our company eventually backed off trying to be the lowest bidder when our competitors who have been around longer were bidding at a loss to get the contracts.

Its still all about favoritism, especially in construction and I doubt it will ever change much, such is the nature and demands Alaska has, its boom and bust, those that win fight dirty, those that live by the rules fall behind and if they don’t think well ahead fail eventually.

Ted Stevens had his hand with Howdie Construction, they in turn inflated the jobs, made them last longer and was full of bad engineering, I am constantly reminded of their ineptness from the bad expansion joints at the overpass on the Seward Meridian overpass to the constantly breaking down paving equipment brought up from the lower 48.

The first Walmart in Wasilla was too small, they moved across the Parks Hiway, then it had to be supersized, Wasilla had phenominal growth some years ago and I have seen it up front having participated with building many a school, overpass and any other project needing concrete, and politics played its hand surely.

No, I am not going to bring up Murkowskis affiliations, as an Alaskan you should know what they are, I don’t preach to the choir.
