Hmmm...Saundra...seems to me that Lds "prophet" Ezra Taft Benson thought in part that the tares were within Mormonism: "Not only are there apostates within our midst, but there are also apostate doctrines that are sometimes taught in our classes and from our pulpits and that appear in our publications. And these apostate precepts of men cause our people to stumble" (Conference Reports, April, 1969 p. 11)
Besides, Saundra, from a Mormon theological perspective, the Mormons have taught that ALL Christians are "apostates" from long ago -- and that the "separation" you referenced took place shortly after Jesus left. (That's what so "funny" about a lot of the non-Mormon Freeper allies of Mormonism...Even if a lot of them are no longer active Christians, well, their parents likely were! By siding with the Mormons, they agree in Joseph Smith's condemnation that their parents were "apostates" and "corrupt" who believed in "abominable" creeds!)
Saundra, you do still believe in Smith's "prophetic" statement in Lds Doctrine & Covenants 1:30, don't you? (And if Beck is a TBM, he's gotta believe this, too). In D&C 1:30, Smith talks about a "foundation ... of this church, and to bring it forth out of obscurity and out of darkness, the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth..."
So Saundra: Do you believe that the Mormon church is "the ONLY true and living church upon the face of the whole earth" as Joseph Smith proclaimed and called it revelational, canonical "scripture?"
I have told you many times what I believe. I believe the LDS Articles of Faith. That is what I believe, not what you think I believe or what you say I believe. This is what I believe: The LDS Articles of Faith. I dare not post them here, however, because the last time I posted the LDS Articles of Faith, they were blasphemed, overwritten with trash, and used for toilet paper.
The anti Mormons on this site are making fools of themselves but that is your prerogative; it’s still a free country.
