For Pete’s sake let it go. Becks one of the good guys. You can get your panties in a wad when Beck says that about Christianity

I agree with Gamecock, why should a Christian let it go? Are we to forget that Mormonism is a cult because we like a particular heretic's politics?

Mark 8:36-37 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?"

Unfortunately, there are many who lack discernment, or may not value the Holiness of God and are thus willing to ignore the heresies and blasphemies that routinely pour out of Glenn's mouth as he tries to reassure all of us that he is a Christian. He may use our LORD's name to try to deceive us into accepting their damnable cultic teachings as comparable to orthodoxy, and though he may fool many, he won't fool God.

Matt 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven... Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

I think that we all can agree that a good portion of what Beck has done through his radio/tv/internet/publications networks is noble in restoring our knowledge of our nation's founding, and hopefully that will motivate and encourage others, yet its not clear what he expects to see come about by promoting a generic faith in the Great Whatever.

His core message advocates action from "Christians" that is antithetical to what Scriptures command:

2 Cor 6:14-16 "Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols?"

Rather, he wants the ambassadors of Christ's Kingdom to join arm-in-arm with the unregenerate allegedly to improve our temporal condition.

Phil 3:17-21"For many walk, of whom I have told you often...they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame — who set their mind on earthly things. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ

Granted, Glenn would try to assure us that his mind is set on heaven. (actually their perverted and self-serving "celestial kingdom" where he hopes to earn the right to be Jesus Christ's peer through works-righteousness) So he wants us to adopt the doctrines of Mother Theresa by saying that sincerity in any faith, no matter what the faith is pleasing to God. If he doesn't beleive that, then he really wants you to believe in Joe Smith's version of god.

Think about it. One of the major excuses as to why Mitt Romney didn't make it to represent the GOP in 2008 is because of his religion. Glenn Beck admits that many are stumbling because of his religion. So if Mormonism is so compatible with Christianity and the ends mean so much to Glenn, then why not drop the heresey, get saved and join a Presbyterian congregation? Because Mormonism is more important to Glenn than his stated mission, and sadly more important to Glenn then most nominal Christian's own faithfullness to the Truth.

What we saw on 8/28 was emotional and motivational. This is just a larger, more attended and more expensive Experience than your typical Joel Osteen Wham-Bam Jesus Jam. We also heard our LORD's name used more times during the Experience than a year full of Sundays at all Big Boxes. I guess that is what makes it all right. Just have cultists drop Jesus' name around enough and everything is cool.

Do you think our LORD was impressed? And if so, why?
