Man I am so, so dumb. I had no idea SRV died. I just bought one of his CDs when I was working in Syracuse, NY in April 2010.
How did he die, if I may inquire?

I would have mistaken you for a youngster.;) He died in a plane crash.
My 17 year old son corrected me...it was a helicopter crash. He ‘remembers’ and he wasn’t even born yet! My kids are huge SRV fans.
I think he died in a plane crash or a helicopter crash as he was leaving a concert at Alpine Valley. The aircraft hit some power lines. I think that’s what happened.
