More than 70 pastors and other denominational leaders affirmed President Obama's Christianity on Friday in a letter written to oppose "those who continue to insinuate that the President is Muslim, not a Christian."

The letter urged religious leaders, public officials and the media to refuse to give attention to those who distort Obama's faith, calling the president "unwavering" in his commitment to Christianity.

The statement comes on the heels of a poll last week showing that 18 percent of Americans believe Obama is a Muslim, up from 11 percent in March 2009.

The number that say Obama is a Christian, meanwhile, has sharply decreased -- from 48 to 34 percent -- within the last year.

Another poll out Friday shows that Protestant Christians' approval of Obama's job performance has steadily declined since 2009, and that they now approve the least, at 43 percent, of any religious group except Mormons.

The letters' signers, who represent more than seven Protestant denominations and numerous other groups, wrote that contrary to rumors about Obama's faith, many of them had "prayed and worshipped with this President." They also stressed that as a group, they all come from "different political and ideological backgrounds."

"We understand that these are contentious times, but the personal faith of our leaders should not be up for debate," the letter reads. "We believe that fellow Christians need to be an encouragement … not question the veracity of [others'] faith."

How can any pastor affirm anyone’s Christianity. Even if Obama makes a verbal profession that “Jesus is Lord,” what mortal can say what he believes in his heart.

Jesus told us to look for fruit. I’m looking, but I only see bad fruit.

We are told that being a Muslim is a noble calling - that Islam is a religion of peace and good stuff.

Why the big stink about this now?
Every born again Christian knows that Obama is not a Christian, if nothing else because of his “all paths lead to God” statement.
We are coming out in the open proclaiming that there is only one way to the Father through Jesus.
Are we being set up?
Once the MSM picks up on this assertion and speaks it openly they must crush it because if Christianity excludes all other paths to God it means WE are the problem.

A true Christian could never say the Islam call to evening prayer is the prettiest sound on earth, even with a gun to their head. That’s denying Christ. You shall know them by their fruits. If I had to guess, about 40 percent of people who claim to be Christians are lost. And many organizations and even churches that call their group by a Christian name are not Christian at all, but false.

That's what I've always said! He thinks nothing of disrupting the lives of people all over the country as he galavants around, yet he thinks the world will come to a stand still if he goes across the street to church once a week. DC is USED to the presidents going to church every Sunday. They're prepared for that.

Furthermore, Sunday morning has probably the least amount of traffic in the city.

I agree, none of us are perfect, but we have lines which we must not cross, for those who find themselves believing yet not raptured it is important for those to understand you still have hope, but it will be at a high price, you will be told to submit and receive the mark, in order to buy, sell, and trade, as Christians will be depicted as the reason for the terrible war which will come. Anoher point to add to your list is that Muslims have always revered and supported him, in spite of his alleged conversion to Christianinty while, if he had actually converted, they’d excoriate him as an apostatge and might even be trying to murder him because of his apostacy.
