The top U.S. Marine general said President Barack Obama’s announced July 2011 deadline to start withdrawing troops from Afghanistan had given “sustenance” to the Taliban.
“We know the president was talking to several audiences at the same time when he made his comments on July 2011,” Gen. James Conway told reporters on Tuesday. “In some ways, we think right now it’s probably giving our enemy sustenance….In fact, we’ve intercepted communications that say, ‘Hey, you know, we only have to hold out for so long.’”

This is an amazing statement from Conway, he could get slammed for this. In a former life I knew him when he was a Captain/Major, he is a very sharp guy.
Very glad to see Gen. Conway speak out, Zer0 will not be happy about this.
The headlines will report the one-liner that the General says that Obama’s policy give sustenance to the Taliban. Obama will not like that. I wonder how long before the General is asked to retire?

Conway has flat out accused Obama of giving “sustenance” to the enemy during wartime. Astounding.
