This is something that gets under my skin. The Bible is rife with passages, both OT and NT, telling Christians about the right, need to prepare to, and the duty to not only protect themselves, but more importantly others who can not protect themselves. So, acting in self defense, or in defense of others does not make one "less Christian". In fact, I'd venture that if more people truly acted in a Christian manner, the type of mindless violence written about in the article would mostly come to a screeching halt.
