Pakistani flood victims' anger at US
BBC ^ | 8/21/2010 | Jill McGivering

Displaced people are camping everywhere. Shelters of canvas and plastic sheeting line the edges of the highways linking Islamabad to Peshawar in the north-west of the country.

The roads are raised, a precious strip of dry land in a sea of stagnant floodwater and thick mud.

I stopped at one makeshift camp and a group of men rushed forward as soon as I got out of the car, crowding round.

One was a thin-faced man in his 40s called Iftikhar.

He pointed to the swamped ground beyond the railway tracks and the remains of his village. His house had been badly damaged, he said.

Even though the waters were starting to recede, it was too unstable for him to move back there with his six daughters.

We desperately need help from the government, so we can rebuild," he told me.

If we are able to show the Paki’s that the US stands behind their misery, and truly wishes to help them out, the potential goodwill may just pay itself back many, many times over.

IOWs the several hundred billion dollars to date just hasn't been enough ... but we're close to the tipping point. Sheesh!

"Great. A 14th century country with nukes populated by democrats."

LOL!
Sir, you have an uncanny knack for distilling the essence of a complex situation into a brief few words!

Lets see - the US sends $millions in aid - the Taliban terrorist get ahold of it (like we are suppose to pretend to be surprised by that???)... so now Pakistanis are angry at the US?

What about their own stinking government? Better yet - how did they learn this “suck on the US Taxpayer Teat” trick?

Did they hear about how well US christian missinoaries were treated when they went to Indonesia to help after the tsunami?

Who much aide went to MN, to TN this year?

Why isn’t Saudi Arabia, Dubai, etc. helping? Instead of sending $ to build a mosque in NYC, how about helping in Paki? Are there any Mulsim missionaries/hospitals/libraries that are open to others as the Christian and Jewish hospitals are?

Why aren’t they blaming their Allah for not stopping the rain?
Guess Muslims don’t pray for the same things we pray for.
Perhaps they should build an Ark?

All the Pakistani doctors are here and working in our hospital, it seems.
They make plenty, why don’t they send money home like the Mexicans?

Look, when they had the earthquake, we were there. Not one word of gratitude, they just picked up killing our soldiers as soon as they ate the food that was delivered. I’m sick of hearing all this anti-American crap and then they expect us to come to their aid when the s**t hit the fan. Sorry, we’re broke, get your help from someone else.

“One man turned his anger on me: “What about your country?” he said, heatedly. “Why aren’t you giving more?”

I guess America just can’t win. This county is already giving more than any other in this crisis. Yet you have a piece of dirt like this guy talking about why America isn’t doing more.

Not why his own government isn’t doing more, he wants to blame America. It would be great to grab that creep and hold his friken head under water until he stopped kicking.

Yeah, they could build an ark, but as soon as it got near a US or Israeli ship they would blow themselves up...

Great sarcasm, but I missed the tag.

I, on the other hand, would send them cholera, anthrax and smallpox, not necessarily in that order.

They need SOMETHING to whine about, and I'm always happy to help.

Sounds just like a few of our New Orleans Katrina victims.

Last September here in Austell, Georgia, a freak thunderstorm parked it’s ass over Cobb and Douglas counties and dumped about 24 inches of rain. The hooch and Sweetwater creek rose 30 FEET ABOVE flood stage. It was one of those epic, start gathering the animals Noah type of floods.

We were all to busy using our personal fishing boats to rescue people, helping our less fortunate neighbors empty out their houses before the waters swallowed them up, using our personal ATV’s to find our missing dead neighbors,etc..so our hands were to freakin full from trying to work our own self’s out of this mess to hold one out for money.

F YOU PAKISTAN.
