Abject panic at the White House
Washington Examiner ^ | 8/20/2010 | David Freddoso

That’s my immediate reaction to this.

Key White House allies are dramatically shifting their attempts to defend health care legislation, abandoning claims that it will reduce costs and deficit, and instead stressing a promise to “improve it.”

The messaging shift was circulated this afternoon on a conference call and PowerPoint presentation organized by FamiliesUSA — one of the central groups in the push for the initial legislation…The confidential presentation, available in full here and provided to POLITICO by a source on the call, suggests that Democrats are acknowledging the failure of their predictions that the health care legislation would grow more popular after its passage, as its benefits became clear and rhetoric cooled. Instead, the presentation is designed to win over a skeptical public, and to defend the legislation — and in particular the individual mandate — from a push for repeal.

Very different from the old days, isn’t it?

“If Republicans want to campaign against what we’ve done… that is a fight I want to have.” – Barack Obama on health care, Jan. 14.

We need to be replaying every sound bite arguement of health care bill cost savings made by every lying RAT Congress Critter (plus Zero) during the past year. It proves they will knowingly lied simply to increase their power.

Like someone claiming to be a vegetarian while eating steak for every meal.

No inconsistency there. The steak is merely pre-processed grass/vegetables. :)

*They know November 2010 will be a political massacre of historical proportions.*

I hope that it is a political bloodbath leaving such a ground scorching on Nov 2nd that all the experts will be wondering how it is even possible.

I hope that the Left is so dazed by it that they don't figure out what has happened to them until they are carrying their belongings and stolen office supplies out to the parking lot in a liquor box.

I hope 20 years from now school children will ask, “What was a Democrat?”

*Mr. Obama couldn’t close an umbrella.

The American public expects that a president should have some baseline of competence.*

“This is Kurt Stubble MSSNBS News here at the White House covering hour 15 of the president’s attempt at getting out of a wet paper bag.
Despite the fact that aides pour water on the bag to keep it continually wet, the president remains in the bag.

Sounds of him valiantly flailing come from inside the bag, but to no avail.

Updates as they happen, this Kurt Stubble MSSNBS Global World Worker’s News, ‘We’ll bring you the World so it can be redistributed’”

Sports keeps the sheeple in line.

That is the truth. And the media plays politics just like sports, with Democrats as the Home Team.

The American public expects that a president should have some baseline of competence.

Where is the competence with this man? It is non-existent.

(He thinks he is another Einstein) Mr. Obama believes in nothing but more government.

Obviously we get the worst of the worst i.e. more and more very incompetent government.

In all seriousness, I wonder if the RNC has the starch to do something like this, which will actually engage the skepticism of a shaken public and hold the psychopathic Pelosi/Reid regime accountable. I seriously question whether Steele et al have what it takes to fight.

Based on performance of the last four years, I believe the national GOP is a pusillanimous bunch of sellouts, more interested in protecting incumbencies and not rocking boats, than in restoring America to her historic calling.

The Campaign traditionally starts in earnest after Labor Day. The election is less than eleven weeks away. We shall see.

“It says NOT to claim the law reduces cost and deficit”

The shocking “news” here is that the Dems apparently have concluded that lying is a bad idea. Heretofore, they have been shameless about lying to push through health care reform. But in these days of YouTube and the Web, they apparently have discovered how trivial it is for their lies to bite them in the behind.

Their credibility has eroded with each day following the enactment of health reform, as a myriad of sources ranging from CBO to the Medicare chief actuary demonstrated convincingly how many of their claims were false and exposed beyond any doubt the shell game used to create the illusion the plan would reduce the deficit.

Now that taxpayers recognize the truth, the Dems quite clearly fear the backlash they will feel on Nov. 2.

What you write is our conclusion looking from the outside. But from their perspective it's simpler. The read the polls.

They also gambled that the voters would be impressed with getting SOMETHING and wouldn't care what the cost was. And Obama didn't care about any of that anyway. He just needed it passed and out of the news.
