Emailed Mr. Kent:
Dear Mr. Kent:
Would you prefer that the Ground Zero mosque be referred to as the Victory Mosque? How about the Cordoba Victory Mosque? How much do you know about Islamic history or what Islamic conquerors do after a victory?
Perhaps they did not teach Islamic history at any of your alma maters; but ignorance of an enemy is not a comfort when the enemy is at your door.
I do not believe that the founding fathers penning of our founding documents allowing freedoms in religion included a mad rush into political correctness that allows any behavior or a blind tolerance of warfare no matter the level or design it takes.
I continue to be disappointed in those who call themselves journalists in this millenium. There are no true journalists. Only mouthpieces for the government elitists they serve. What a shame. I grew up watching, reading, and listening to some of the best.
Your actions ordering staff to quite referring to the mosque as being located at ground zero is further proof of my fears. Journalists do not exist. Journalism is dead. And those who seek to destroy the United States wear many faces.
I just called and spoke with Tom. He told me that the approved term to use is “mosque located 2 blocks from ground zero”. The concern was that readers would be misled into believing that the mosque would be located exactly ON ground zero. Is this explanation reasonable?
I just sent an email to both addresses, including a phrase from the campagne...”you can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig” and then said, “You can call it whatever you want but it’s still a mosque at Ground Zero.”
That’s the best I can do, fellas. Just voice my outrage.
