Russia: Iran entitled to peaceful nuclear energy

Russia's nuclear chief said Thursday that the startup of Iran's first nuclear power plant, set for this weekend, will demonstrate that Iran is entitled to peaceful use of nuclear energy under international supervision.

Sergei Kiriyenko said Thursday at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin that the launch of the nuclear reactor in Bushehr will also show that Russia respects its obligations.

Russia signed a $1 billion contract to build the plant in 1995, but its completion has been put off for years.

Delaying the project has given Russia continued influence with Iran in international attempts to have it stop uranium enrichment - a program Iran says it needs to make fuel for an envisaged reactor network but which also can be used to build atomic weapons.

Yo Russkies.

Then so too are the numerous satellite states that ring your perimeter. You know, the ones who you kept under your vicious Commie heel all those years, and now hate your guts.

Good...

Then let them hook up with India to do R& D and bring the world an electrical energy generating Thorium Reactor/Plant System, turnkey and modular if possible for worlwide use.

It is about time they do something for mankind instead of being a source of Evil...

If we let it be known that we might supply a small nuke or two to Chechnya. I think that might work wonders for Russian friendliness.

And all those years you felt sorry that Russians were rotting under communism. Turns out, it suited them.

that Iran is entitled to peaceful use of nuclear energy under international supervision.

Ok...one question;

Why does a nation that sits on one of the largest fossil fuel reserves in the world...NEED A NUCLEAR REACTOR?

To create U-236...that's why

"Only lunatics would give muslim jihadist lunatics like the mullahs of Iran the capability to create nuclear weapons."

I believe that Russia and the Chi-Coms secretly want the muslims to nuke America. The Islamic nukes will first be used against Israel and US forces overseas, then against America proper. They are hoping some "shadowy" muslim front group (sponsored secretly by the Saudis, Syria, Iran) will do the job for them.

It’s never going to end with Russia jockeying for dominance over the US. The never ending conflict delays the banksters’, etal new world order dreams so I guess there is a positive side.
