Cam’t you already SEE what is going to happen? They will strip the churches of vested power to perform marriages.....
Which ends up making sense because churches SHOULD have refuse to marry people as protest agsinst easy, no-fault divorce years ago...
women run to the church for a big white wedding on daddy’s dime, then
run to the state for a divorce because they fell in love with somebody else or because they don’t like how their husband jingles his pocket change or something......

What is going to happen is along the lines of Howard Dean....”I don’t believe in same-sex marriage...leave marriage to the churches...I believe in civil unions” which is really “civil marriage”.....then there will be a move to ONLY allow civil services and disallow church weddings as a violation of “separation” of church and state....
Actually this makes sense, because I think church weddings are a FRAUD that should come with a disclaimer......ie “this “death do us part and God stuff is not meant to be construed as a contract of any sort and the state can nullify this marriage at any time upon resquest of only one party.....”
