Politico ^ | 8/12/10 | Andy Barr

Former Arkansas GOP Gov. Mike Huckabee says he is against changing the 14th Amendment to remove birthright citizenship.

"The Supreme Court has decided that, I think, in three different centuries," Huckabeee said in a radio interview Wednesday with NPR. "In every single instance, they have affirmed that if you are born in this country, you are considered to be a citizen. The only option there is to change the Constitution."...

But asked Wednesday if he supported such a change, Huckabee responded simply: "No."...

“Fix the border first and you’ll have less anchor babies being born, them we can figure out how to deal with the 14th amendment.”

.
They are not “anchor babies” according to the 14th, only according to the MSM.

We don’t need to do anything to the 14th, just teach reading skills.

“Allowing children born to illegal aliens in the US to become citizens is like a child being born in your living room to a home invader and claiming to be a resident of your house.”

.
Precisely!

That is why the 14th requires the parents to be here legally.

As they used to say in the ‘60s:

“there’d be no Hope without Dopes”

(or something like that :o)

Huckabee needs to edjumacate hisself on the 14th instead of spouting uniformed sound bytes. It’s not too hard to figure out. Maybe Huck doesn’t mind the US being victimized by impoverished 3rd worlders coming here to drop anchor babies

Screw their rights! What are the rights of the citizens and legal residents of America who have tolerated this invasion for far too long

Let’s get Alinsky with it.

How about ‘Amplified’?

One would think his release of violent repeat offenders from prison would have put the final nail in huckster’s coffin. The guy is a mindless idiot.

This is why Huck’s endorsement of Deal almost made me vote for Handel...

Some years ago, at a town hall meeting in Dalton, I asked Deal about birthright citizenship. He said there is a good argument that the 14th amendment does not grant citizenship to children of illegals. He did introduce a bill, H.R.1868, ending birthright citizenship. We needed this done twenty + years ago.

Allowing children born to illegal aliens in the US to become citizens is like a child being born in your living room to a home invader and claiming to be a resident an owner of your house.

Thank you for the correction, but you are right. It isn’t a legal resident, it is a citizen, an owner.
