Gosh I still remember standing out on the steps of my elementary school with my friends talking about this "rumor" of what was gonna happen to our bodies - the P.E. coach overheard us and explained that yes, the rumor was true and we should talk to our mothers or we could wait and learn all about it in middle school the next year. We were horrified!

But not nearly as horrified as when Mom asked Dad that following year if she should sign the permission slip for me to see the very film! And when Dad answered "Well she needs to know about it - OMG at that age I wanted to hide in my room for the rest of my life because my Dad knew about it. LOL

(sigh) innocence and modesty... I look at the kids today and am sad that so many have lost it so early in life.

Yes...even when I was a kid in the 80s we still had it.

There’s a middle ground. While I don’t support the Victorian idea that women weren’t even taught what a vagina was, and didn’t even know what it was their husbands were doing to them on their wedding night, I also don’t believe 9 year olds should wear miniskirts, makeup, and behave as they do today.

I remember when I learned about the birds and the bees. My first thought was, “That means MOM AND DAD did it! And I’ve got a brother! That means they DID IT TWICE!”
