It could be worse...

1. They could count the billions of off balance sheet debt Fannie and Freddie created as part of the national deficit. Dodd and Frank got us into this mess by ignoring the warning signs.
2. You could have bought Fannie Mae preferred stock.

Or we can just trust Dodd and Frank to get us out of a mess they created.
