Thank you for your comments. But you make big mistakes.

while 49% of men voted for Obama, only 30% of white men voted for Obama. and only 40% of married white women voted for Obama. So why is it that 70% of single white women voted for Obama? Why are they so different from married white women and from white men?

So single white women are leeches. They all want abortions, free money from the government, and a sugar daddy. Right? Is that what you’re wanting justification on? I don’t understand it: on the one hand, I read here daily that single women are allegedly taking over the world, becoming way more powerful than men, making more money (ergo not eligible for any sort of welfare), more decisions...on the other hand, according to the article, they are leeches of the government and avoiding marriage so they can use the government as their surrogate “husband”, grabbing welfare checks and any handout offered. So which is it?

Single women couldn’t POSSIBLY have voted for Obama because he didn’t come across as a crotchety old geezer, completely out of touch with everything. Right? Nope. They wanted Obama to raise their kids and pay their bills. /s

When I was single, my friends (many single females) were really annoyed that I voted for Bush, twice, and with great consideration. They voted for Gore and Kerry (and then Obama) NOT because they wanted welfare, but because there is a strong perception among single women that Republicans are essentially the type of “husbands” they don’t want: controlling, bossy, rigid, judgmental. We know that’s not true, we see the irony of that failed logic.

I have a theory that every group has to have an enemy in order to strengthen the bond of the group. Right or wrong. At school. At work. Socially. Conservatives have liberals. We hate liberals and bashing them is a form of bonding. Being opposed to every single ideology they hold, again, right or wrong, is part of the bonding. Single women, college professors, Jews (I have several of all of the above in my family) in many cases, have the same type of bonding. Hate Conservatives, right or wrong, leave the ideas unexamined, because they came from Conservatives.

So, in my case, my friends voted for the Dem, among many reasons, because that’s what you do when you’re in that group. Many here voted for various craptastic Conservatives, because that’s what you do.

One more example. My younger sister’s best friend. She’s single. Early 30’s. A teacher in a dirt-poor, predominately black school district. She is FURIOUS with how the welfare mentality has butchered her students lives. To say she hates welfare and the welfare mentality is being kind...and yet she voted for Obama. Because “McCain came across as a crotchety old geezer completely out of touch with everything”.

Maybe that’s all it boils down to with many single women.
