You are very short on the history of warfare. Its purpose is not defense but to raid the neighbors and bring home the bacon. And is that what the US DOD is doing? Raiding neighbors to bring home the bacon? If we did, would you "approve" of the expenditure?

I could use a few spare house servants for example, and some artwork from the Hermitage for example.
Is there something wrong with looting and raiding, particularly if we can have some of the finer things in life AND have someone else pay for our military needs?

That is not what the DOD is doing, and no, if it was, I would not ‘approve’. But it is the Prez & Congress to ‘activate’ the military. None of this, of course, has any bearing on the USPS and whether or not they loose money.
