Interesting point. This may be less about Lakin than it is about managing the circumstances. If Lakin is of sound mind, why would he continue in spite of the ‘advice’ I’m sure he received.
My point is we are now about “circumstances” rather than Constitutional duties. If our military officer corp folds up with the slightest wind from the left, we have little chance of restoring what once was.
