Israel's president has accused the English of being anti-semitic and claimed that MPs pander to Muslim voters.
Shimon Peres said England was "deeply pro-Arab ... and anti-Israeli", adding: "They always worked against us."
He added: "There is in England a saying that an anti-Semite is someone who hates the Jews more than is necessary."
His remarks, made in an interview on a Jewish website, provoked anger from senior MPs and Jewish leaders who said the 87-year-old president had "got it wrong".
But other groups backed the former Israeli prime minister and said the number of anti-semitic incidents had risen dramatically in the UK in recent years.

I think that the doddering Peres was referring to all of the UK. So yes, he meant British, but he was on a bit of an uncontrolled rant there, plus his mental faculties have declined with age.Sorry. It's just that the English/British thing is a sore spot with me.
The Celts are lefty "national liberation" types, so naturally they're anti-Israel. I'd like to think the English are better--they do, after all, have a well-known dedication to the Hebrew Bible. Unfortunately, they've also long had the bizarre idea that they're the "true Israelites" (the unofficial English "national anthem" is Jerusalem). It may very well be that this notion contributed to their resenting getting "pushed out" of 'Eretz Yisra'el by actual Israelites.

Imagine if the British had done what they pledged to do.
Imagine if after a time they even officially partitioned the mandate territory and even if it ended that the Arabs receiving two thirds.
It would have created de facto and de jure the two States the World so purportedly hungers for.
Of course, the Arabs would have still attempted to destroy Israel so maybe it would make no difference after all.

I am certain that anti Semitic acts by Muslims in the streets is not what triggered Peres.
It was very likely being reminded again of British duplicity.
A brand new British CONSERVATIVE PM wasting no time rushing to kiss Muslim ass in Turkey while mouthing the most outrageous anti Israeli Arab lies and propaganda.

The Founding Fathers were a mixed bag religiously. John Adams was a very religious Protestant. Thomas Jefferson was a Deist, and rejected mainstream Christianity (he even authored a Bible that went so far as to remove everything supernatural, leaving only the moral & ethical teachings). Ben Franklin similarly rejected Christianity, and organized religion in general (he did, however, contribute to help Mikveh Israel build its first synagogue in Philadelphia). George Washington was somewhere in between Adams and Jefferson.

A good number of British Jews are. I know many personally who’ve come to the U.S. And a couple of years ago, I met a gay British Jew in an internet cafe in Tel Aviv. He had recently made aliyah. He said he felt 10x safer as a gay, secular Jew in Tel Aviv than he did in Londonstan.

I don’t know what the statistics are, but I haven’t heard of any large increases in British Jewish immigration to either the US or Israel. If you have any numbers, please post.

The president of Israel is correct.
The British Ambassador to France called Israel “that shi**y little country”

Do pay attention: the British have ALWAYS been anti-semitic: it goes back at least to the time of Shakespeare.
Jews were expelled from England in 1290 by Edward I, after two centuries of antisemitic violence. In 1144, there was the first European Blood Libel with the case of William of Norwich.

The traitors running the UK are anti-English. In fact they are war with the island's indigenous population, opely importing people to replace them and the locals are cowed and discriminated against.
Leftist antisemites and Eurabianist swine are the rulling class in Europe. As for occupied Britannia, Cameron is a bigger threat to Jews than Nick Griffin would be as PM and he was a quasi-Nazi.

So what countries are helpful? In the scheme of things, modern Britain cant be that high in the list of enemies. At least not so high on the list, to justify some of the excessive hatred that seems to exist on this thread.
I don't seem any hatred on this thread. I do see crocodile tears and ulterior motives with you.

Yes, Israel is on the front line. Thats what happens when you move into the middle of a bad neighbourhood. I wish them well, but their fight is not my fight.
How cute. Especially your countries rule in creating the entire mess from the ottoman empire on. The Jewish question must be difficult for you. /s

You trash Britain all through this thread. You call us perfidious. You drag up ancient history (expulsion of the jews in *1290*) as evidence of what a bunch of anti-semites we are. And then you act all surprised that I would "wash my hands" (Pontius Pilate reference noted) of Israel.

There wasnt so much of a reason to move *after* WWII. But if Jewish people want to re-create biblical Israel, thats their fight, not mine.
They were suppose to stick around until the rest of them were murdered. From your comments on this thread, I am sure that is a fight you could join. Just not on the Jewish side.
