RHINEBECK, N.Y. – Chelsea Clinton wed her longtime boyfriend under extraordinary security at an elegant Hudson River estate late Saturday.
Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton announced in a statement that their daughter wed investment banker Marc Mezvinsky after weeks of secrecy and buildup that had celebrity watchers flocking to the small village of Rhinebeck for the evening nuptials.
The site of the wedding, a Beaux Arts riverside estate called Astor Courts, was sealed off from the general public.
"Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends," the Clintons said.
"We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family.
On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day."
The ceremony was conducted by a rabbi and a reverend as Chelsea Clinton is Methodist and Mezvinsky is Jewish, and included a poem by Leo Marks titled, "The Life That I Have," according to the family.
Consistent with Chelsea Clinton's desire for privacy, the family had released no details of the wedding beyond the date.
But the scope of the event became apparent when more than a half-dozen busloads of wedding guests — men in black tie, women in dresses — were transported from a hotel in the village to the riverside ceremony as gawkers looked on.

Yes, I agree. She looks lovely, radiant, a gorgeous gown, elegant setting, and he looks disheveled at best. His face doesn't have the same radiant smile that she has. I hope she's happy, and for a long time.

Heard the Obama’s weren’t invited to this wedding due to security reasons? That is garbage, if the SS has made it safe enough for the Clinton family, it wouldn’t take much more for the Obama’s.
I think Hillary is pulling away from her boss in case some folks decide to dump him and support her for 2012.

Isn’t that sad? It really shows in that family photo that she doesn’t look at all like her parents. Maybe she’s adopted?
We all know Chelsea can’t help what her parents have done. I hope she and her husband can stay out of the same scams of both their parents.

Again, the press keeps trying to convince us that Chelsea is beautiful. There’s only one problem. WE ALL HAVE EYES. She looks lovely, yes. FOR HER.
But where was the press when Jenna Bush, a true beauty, was married...I don’t remember this kind of fawning. I want to puke. The parents can afford a multi-million dollar wedding, but she’s still begging for cash on her website. What have we done in this Country...we had it all..and we’ve thrown it away.
Well, I think he’s a very attractive guy and the kinda grungy look works for him (not that grungy but just a touch of guy-ness ... the I don’t care thing).
And is the groom supposed to look radiant? Don’t think so.
Jenna was utterly gorgeous and the wedding only cost $100,000.
She has a lot of Hillary in her..nothing like Bill...A LOT like Webb Hubbell..I am absolutely 100% convinced she’s his.

Reading all the fawning posts makes me wonder if FR has been hijacked over to DU of huffnpuff. Get real, the girl is ugly as a mud fence and both families are crooked as a barrel of snakes.
Chelsea’s belt at least was not a boob belt and what do you bet it was made of diamonds.

I agree with everything you said. I’ve got this feeling that we are going to have to pay dearly to regain the America that once was. John Adams is spinning in his grave over what we’ve let happen to his America.
