Pure horse manure.

I lived in the South in the 50’s and 60’s and base my knowledge on real life, not on movies and TV shows in which every Black is innocent and every White (except the Northern Heroes) is a racist redneck.

My Father served on juries, one in which they found a Black innocent of a minor charge, tho he technically was guilty. They just didn’t think he was doing anything unreasonable.

Who here is talking horse manure? For every 50’s/60’s white jury you can cite that found a black defendant not guilty, there were dozens where blacks were charged and convicted on slim to no evidence. Failure to acknowledge that simple fact is mere romanticization of the good old glory days of the South.

Failure to acknowledge that since then all-black juries find even the most obviously guilty black not guilty is the same thing, and equally wrong. It’s just the way it is.

One day there may be true color-blind justice. But not in our lifetimes.

Had your dear, sainted dad been killed under similar circumstances, (which Hill virtually admitted doing) even 35 years later, you would want to know that justice had been done, the chips falling where they may.
