I kinda respect Anne Rice for what she did. At least she refuses to pretend to be something she isn’t.

There are too many people who INSIST on being a Christian, insist on being a member of a church, and then publicly attack what the church teaches. What the heck are they members of the church for ?

If you no longer believe in Church discipline and Church doctrine or its creeds, LEAVE THE CHURCH and STOP PRETENDING that you’re a believer.

Yes, I’m talking about those politicians who claim to be Christian/Catholic and then openly support abortion, partial birth abortion, gay marriage and the like.

Too much work for her to be a Christian. Distressingly I find a lot of fellow Catholics who use the sex-abuse scandal in the Church as a convenient excuse for everything from lack of church attendance to lack of faith. It seems to me to be a simple matter of good vs. evil. I try to explain to them that the word of God and faith do not change. The tactics used by Satan in his attempts to subvert the Church constantly change. The sex abuse scandal is just another of Satan’s endless and devious means by which he seeks to destroy the Faith.

Yes she is, even within the genre. Her erotic novels are antidotes for insomnia as well. One would expect better from a New Orleanian, but Storeyville has been gone for a long time.

I feel bad for her though. Losing her daughter cost her a noticeable portion of her sanity, and I can think of no loss more painful.
