WikiLeaks 'Bastards'
WSJ ^ | July 28, 2010 | Staff

Julian Assange, the editor of the WikiLeaks website that on Monday released some 92,000 classified military documents, has told the German newsweekly Der Spiegel that he "loved crushing bastards." We wonder if the "bastards" he has in mind include the dozens of Afghan civilians named in the document dump as U.S. military informants. Their lives, as well as those of their entire families, are now at terrible risk of Taliban reprisal.

...But the WikiLeaks story is a new and troubling event. Our initial reaction was that the documents expose no big lies about the war and, judging from what we've seen so far, no small ones either. They reveal nothing that wasn't already widely known about Iranian and Pakistani support for the Taliban. In other words, their value in terms of the public's right to know is de minimis.

But the closer we and others have looked at the documents, it's clear that the WikiLeaks dump does reveal a great deal about the military's methods, sources, tactics and protocols of communication.

The Pentagon now says it is aggressively pursuing the source of the leak, and we hope the leaker is found and punished.

And politicians across the spectrum are expressing outrage and denouncing the source of the leaks, etc., blablabla.....

Apparently for the liberal pig the “bastards” he's crushing include poor, small time Afghans that he has set up to be murdered.

Whoever leaked this information to Wikileaks should be executed.

Leftists believe that anyone who supports the United States deserves to die horribly.

Apparently Obama agrees with him (on hating our military men and women), since we now know that Obama knew about this weeks ago and did nothing!

IMPEACH!

We have a contentious issue in Canada over this individual. Caution is needed and a weather eye out for the use of this leak by the usual suspects. Four Canadian soldiers were in operation "Medusa" in 2006. Officially the Taliban opened fire as they approached a residence, they were killed.

This "leak" purports to say it was friendly fire by Americans. The usual "hate America" suspects had a field day. I take the liberty of quoting just one of the actual reports and information about the subject. I take the liberty of culling from a large aricle in the National Post. Canada.

"Barry Mellish, father of Warrant Officer Mellish, said he knew the incident that killed his son wasn't a result of friendly fire, and he was told so personally by Sergeant Major John Barnes, concussed in the same attack....
the Taliban insurgent or ever you want to call them popped up out of a building and fired a 50-cal at it and shrapnel killed both Frank and Will Cushley"

National Post July 27th 2010. By Juliet O'Neil and Katherine Laidlaw. P A16.

There never was a suggestion at the time of friendly fire and there were a number of Canadian soldiers in that exercise. One can imagine the fate of Assange at the hands of terrorists. He spits in the face of his own country that has soldiers in Afghanistan. I read an account of where he moans about changing residences and looking over his shoulder.

>America was lost in Nov 2008.

so we should just roll over and surrender? I think not.

>TV helped elect a muslim 7 years after 911 thanks to idiots who watch TV.

Not a muslim, but a muslim appeaser who makes neville chamberlain look like winston churchill. but apart from that I agree 100%.

>People should not let their kids joing the military becaus ethey will be used and killed lik ethey are now.

I fear that the alternative is to let the thugs like Al-Qaeda take over. Not a good idea.

$50 says Mr. Wikileaks is going to get a Nobel for his activities.

Even odds unless he gets indicted. Then I can't touch it.

I read an account of where he moans about changing residences and looking over his shoulder.

That is the only good news I've seen in this entire story.
