BTW, FDR was almost 80 years ago and you don't see Liberals or Progressives miss an opportunity to bring up New Deal Progressive ideology or the Keynesian philosophy that prolonged the Great Depression by 10 years. The (not so)Great Society was nearly 50 years ago, but you never see Liberals or Progressives miss an opportunity to ballyhoo Medicare or Medicaid, despite the fact that both are dismal failures......
When most kids were raised in a two family home, and schools stuck to “reading, riting, and rithmitic” there were fundamental Christian values and work ethic buried in there somewhere. Even if people got silly in their youth, they came to their senses later in life (see 60’s hippies that voted for RR in the 80’s).
Now days with most kids raised in single parent homes and schools thinly disguised propaganda centers, the kids come out without a fundamental basis of common sense. And there are millions more like that being graduated every year.
So I'm sorry, but I'm not expecting someone as conservative as I'd like to be electable in my lifetime. Maybe after a second great depression (which may be coming) or another World War (which also may be coming), but not soon.
