Maybe PA should go after 6%.

In any event, MA has a use tax, and folks are supposed to pay sales tax they buy goods outside the state, such as NH, where there is no sales tax. Kerry bought a boat, Kerry Lives in MA. Kerry owes a use tax in MA.

As far as that corporation in PA is concerned, I wonder if that boat is being treated as a legitimate business expense.

Come to think of it, that’s probably the angle

Take Heinz execs and other corporatists and lobbyists out sailing once in a while and Teresa Heinz’s holding company/trust or whatsever they call it- can write off the yacht as a business expense. Surely Lurch is a director or legislative advisor or somesuch, all he has to do is take a briefcase of documents to “review” every time he goes sailing..... and it’s business travel

maybe Tereza didn’t buy it just out of love for Lurch
