I can’t remember where I read this but someone opined that he reminded people of a used car salesman.

I saw a few clips of the debate between him and McCain and that was the impression I got also. He does not have a likable personality and until he changes his persona, too may people will judge him and not his message. He comes across as a shyster.

Thank you.

We will be attacked because FReepers are rightly angry at McCain and some at Palin, so they have to attack in order to vent.

However, part of the problem as I (and You) see it is that those who aren’t as hardwired as FReepers on this race have trouble seeing J.D. as their Senator because of his persona.

After all, you can grind McCain into the ground, verbally, for what he deserves given his history, but you are still stuck with a choice between McCain and J.D. Hayworth for your senator the next 6 years.

If he could carry his own water effectively (great debator, but he’s not seen as very likable or trustworthy), then neither McCain nor Palin could stand in his way.

Put somebody else up (hypothetically) and McCain would be more beatable because he is vulnerable.

People say it’s money. Ok, I’ll buy that he is severely disadvantaged which doesn’t help, but people have won under those conditions before. If he doesn’t, it is HIM not anyone else who couldn’t carry the day.

Glad at least one other person will say that besides me and endure the resulting flame wars (which will be one-sided because I have so much to do, to surviving each day, that keeps me away from that stuff).
