The 2008 field was weak both in terms of personalities and in terms of principles. Fred was the best of a bad lot.
Newt? Give me a break. He has been clobbered in debates by John French Kerry and Mario Cuomo. He can’t convincingly argue for what he himself does not believe. Newt hasn’t won a debate since he was debating ALONE at midnight in the well of House on CSPAN.
Palin would be the class of the field in nearly any year. 2008 was a weak year. 2012 may be even weaker, with retread Romney and Huck, and Gingrich thrown in with Pawlenty the nonentity. I have invited any on this board to suggest a credible alternative and a plausible way that that person would defeat her. So far...nothing.
In any event, it is dawning on even the most gravely afflicted of the PDS-sufferers that Sarah Palin is going to seize the nomination in 2012. The stars are in alignment for her. She is the right candidate for the right time and is presented with the right opponent. There is no one, or nativeo combination, who can stop her.
