The Cole sentries were ordered to carry rifles WITHOUT magazines.

Won’t happen again.

The only thing we lack is the will to use them.

Baghdad Bob went into retirement.

Nah, he's now the White House spokesman.

Wanna bet a certain usurper in the White House won't order that to happen again?

I mean, we don't want to provoke them do we????

(Compare to the current ROE where ground troops need to get permission to fire back when attacked, and tell me I'm wrong)...

I understand that all of the new Iranian boats are made with glass bottoms so they can see the old Iranian navy . . .

That couldn’t be; Gibbs actually told the truth once.

I was thinking similarly along that vein, except in reverse. They do NOT lack the will to use theirs. IIRC, I remember what we used against the British navy during the revolution, and the British thinking the same thing about our vessels......

Mostly Whalers with outboards... even a 5.56mm will take out the powerhead on their yo-mama outboards.

I think most of the Iranian fleet can be countered with the use of this gun:

Mk. 38 weapons system, essentially a naval mount for the M242 Bushmaster 25 mm gun

” Iraq was rated third and kicked their butts”

That’s because Saddam had a complete lack of principles and used chemical and biological weaponry. He was a ruthless butcher and I daresay we in the US need leaders like that.

I’ve said it before, if we are going to continue the war in Afghanistan, fight a war. Stop trying to use it as a training ground and to convince the Afghans that we are good people. Afghans understand war and will fight it without regard to who they harm. That’s why no country, in all of history, has been able to break them. You can’t rebuild any country until you, totally, eleminate the enemy and kill their will to fight. Collateral damage? Of course it will happen.....it’s war and those civilians that support the enemy will die. It’s just the way it is.

Our people are so removed from the problem they can’t understand war. They don’t comprehend what is happening. That’s where a war time President comes in. Fighting this war for ten years is crazy and is being used political fodder. Mean while, we are losing our most valuable resource in this country...............our kids.

Maintaining and keeping battle-ready is the key. Who cares how many they have if they can’t maintain them. Sometimes having more than you need means rationing of parts and service.

I’d rather have one that I know will do whatever I want than 100 that may fail when I least expect it.

“That’s where a war time President comes in. Fighting this war for ten years is crazy and is being used political fodder.”

Exactly. This is now just a leisurely chess game to them. In WII, the generals ran the war and told the bureaucrats what they needed and it was speedily delivered. The reason we have won the wars we’ve won is because we used the scorched earth tactic and won in four years. There were heavy casualties, but they didn’t join the military to have fun and pose in magazines.

“it’s war and those civilians that support the enemy will die. It’s just the way it is.”

Odd how no one had a problem with that when it came to the Nazis.

Yeah. It’s not like the Nazis attacked our biggest city and destroyed the biggest buildings in that city, is it?

I guess they don't know about R2-D2...

Block 1B PSuM is specifically designed to handle swarming speedboat attacks.
