I wish the opportunity had presented itself...

Oh, it did, but I had just spent ten years convincing
myself that I actually HAD a future and just couldn’t
see spending it in prison.

I took some consolation from the fact that bad people
if they live long enough, usually disgrace themselves
and come to a bad end anyway. Even botox can’t hide
the ravages of her conciousness.

Still, I could have been the idol of millions of vets.
Now I’m just another ageing warrior, maybe I’ll become
a buddhist priest...
