I remember when I was 12 years old, my uncle had a 35 foot yaught. Named it Rum Runner. He docked it at Pattaconk Yacht Club in Chester CT. On the Lower Connecticut river. He used to take it out on the river and let my brothers take over once out on the river let us at the helm on the bridge and let us drive it. He would say aim for the next bouy. He would go down below and pour himself a scotch. We were the designated drivers. I was the oldest brother.

He would come up when we went through the Haddam swing bridge at the Good Speed Opera house. He would lower the antenna and let us go through so we would not break it on the bridge. He would say your the driver take it through. This was so cool. He would only take helm coming back to the harbor and parking it. It had dual V-8 engines. I would go down every November and help him winterize it.
