This is Obama’s personal Gestapo.

I must've dreamed a thousand dreams

Been haunted by a million screams

But I can hear the marching feet

They're moving into the street

"Barack Obama's presidency is illegal! That's what political insiders are saying after a shocking birth certificate from a hospital in Kenya reveals America's Commander-in-Chief was born in Africa! GLOBE has all the explosive details you can't afford to miss!"

Latest attack from the Globe. Maybe spread out over thousands of supermarkets across the U.S, it will get Mr. and Mrs. Bubba Sixpak to do some thinkin'. LOL

Whine, whine, whine, mercenary armies worked out really well for the Romans. The Mercs are loyal to the sound of money only.

What’s the poem - it’s beautiful.

More like haunting - "Land of Confusion" [Genesis song] ...

I must've dreamed a thousand dreams

Been haunted by a million screams

But I can hear the marching feet

They're moving into the street

Now did you read the news today

They say the danger's gone away

But I can see the fire's still alight

There burning into the night

There's too many men, too many people

Making too many problems

And not much love to go round

Can't you see this is a land of confusion?

Well this is the world we live in

And these are the hands we're given

Use them and let's start trying

To make it a place worth living in

Ooh, Superman where are you now

When everything's gone wrong somehow?

The men of steel, the men of power

Are losing control by the hour

This is the time, this is the place

So we look for the future

But there's not much love to go round

Tell me why, this is a land of confusion

This is the world we live in

And these are the hands we're given

Use them and let's start trying

To make it a place worth living in

I remember long ago when the sun was shining

Yes, and the stars were bright all through the night

And the sound of your laughter as I held you tight

So long ago ...

I won't be coming home tonight

My generation will put it right

We're not just making promises

That we know, we'll never keep

Too many men, there's too many people

Making too many problems

And not much love to go round

Can't you see, this is a land of confusion?

Now this is the world we live in

And these are the hands we're given

Use them and let's start trying

To make it a place worth fighting for

This is the world we live in

And these are the names we're given

Stand up and let's start showing

Just where our lives are going to ...

You guys realize this is not only requiring service for all citizens, but reinstating the draft, right?

“to authorize the induction of persons in the uniformed services during wartime to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services, and for other purposes.”

Wouldn’t this make the citizens the property of the government?

No, I meant I would have to pass on being a guv’ment Americorp volunteer.

Ultimately the choice will be stoking the fires or being in the ovens.

Ultimately, if we let it get that far.

“Actually, I would support it if there were no exemptions.”

I'm with you on that. NO exemptions. None. Not for college, not for disability, NADA!

As for those thinking this will reinstitute slavery, or enslave all of us, I doubt it. Not while I'm still breathing. I still remember my oath of enlistment, and I'm not aware of anything that will release me from it.

“Where did you note anything about paying anybody?”

Last paragraph, IIRC. “compensation to be determined...”

Nope, forgive me, Section 105 b)6.

(6) Standards for compensation and benefits for persons performing their national service obligation under this title through civilian service.

Unless you're seeing something different on your screen, post #90 is from Desert Rhino to you. IIRC, you posted #86, & #91.

If you mean about all of us on the dole, hmmmm. It's a two-year commitment, between ages 18-42. I'm not sure I'm following that... enlighten me, if you would.
