Is there some reason that Israel is doing all this for the UN? Do they really think it is going to lessen criticism by anyone? They could give up guns and switch to nerf balls and the enemies of Israel would whine just as loudly.

I knew a guy who was a gunner on a Sherman tank during the Korean War. They would get a call to go on a fire mission to support infantry. They would drive up to a position where there were NK or Chinese infantry concealed. First they would loose an air burst of Willie Pete and when that got them jumping up and down and writhing in pain, they would follow up with a couple of antipersonnel rounds.

The terrorists insinuate themselves among civilians, hoping to be spared return fire and benefiting from the public relations value of civilian casualties otherwise. The Journolist morons’ abet this behavior by trumpeting civilian casualties and blaming them on the Israelis, rather than placing blame where it squarely belongs. If the Wehrmacht hid behind civilians (which they didn’t) the world would blame them for unnecessary civilian casualties. The the world today, Israeli civilians deserve to be killed and their murders are celebrated as heros.
There are a lot of uses for willie peter, and for illumination nothing beats it.
