The mantra of a liberal today is "there ought to be a law".That phrase has incensed me since my mother often spouted it 40-some years ago;it is the cry of those who will not, cannot , trust anyone else with freedom.Such people often limit themselves as well by incessant worries over the correctness of their actions as viewd by other people ,not the intrinsic values of their acts.Telling the truth about the lazy and corrupt is usually unpopular in a liberal socialist society because it offends those lazy and corrupt parasites, and might stir the others to examine the rules.
And the envy comments earlier are correct. The phrase “there ought to be a law “ was usually in response to someone else who successful carried out a project or acquired new goods or wealth “they didn’t “deserve””.
Since conservatives have the guns and the wherewithall to use them, the "two Americas" would occur AFTER we won the War of Federal Aggression.
