"...We just don't do it that much because FR is such a toxic environment with so many rude, nasty comments dominating the discussion..."

"...I don't need to be a 'real FReeper.'"

In the past and even earlier today some Admin Moderators (not me) were thoughtful enough to attempt to make your visits here a bit easier. Then today one Admin Moderator volunteered to write this:

After reading your comments in your post #42 above, it now appears to this Admin Moderator that you are waiting for the royal red carpet treatment while visiting such a "toxic environment" as Free Republic. You have made your intentions clear that you have no need nor desire of ever becoming a "real Freeper" yet you expect Freepers to visit and post on your blog.

Good luck waiting for the royal red carpet rollers.

Looks like someone thought enough of the blog to visit and participate.

What’s a “real FReeper”? If it’s someone like 50mm and Gunner then I don’t want to be a “real FReeper.”

I’m not asking for any “red carpet treatment” (what might that actually entail?) I’ve stated that I certainly appreciate the vast numbers of thoughtful and passionate Freepers out there who visit our site and will continue to do so.

But yes, FreeRepublic is often a very toxic environment because people like 50mm and Gunner are more prominent than the more quiet, friendly people. That’s an honest critique and you can take it or leave it — it’s not a personal attack on FR, just a call for it to be a better, more welcoming environment. I have female editors who often don’t feel comfortable posting at FR because of some of the stuff they see.
