My ex wife’s grandfather had some kind of macular degeneration.

He had a chart on his kitchen wall that looked a bit like a target. He stood just a few feet away to chart the affected vision for reporting to his doctor.

I have a dear friend with Maculuar Degeneration, she is older, but it is very sad as she loved to read, do crossword puzzles, etc... one side thing is light really bothers her so she pretty much keeps her house dark to cope with the issues light causes for her... in addition to reading, etc., she loved to garden.. hard to do now with our bright light here in Arizona.
