When this "federation" was formed, I was surprised that the TPX decided to join. (I have traveled with the TPX on all of their trips across the country.) It seemed to start as a grassrots coalition, but soon devolved in to an org that appears to want to be seen as "leaders" of the TPM and decide who can and cannot be a part of it.
That happened with another large Tea Party group.
When I spoke at a Tea Party in Fesno last summer on the first Tea Party Express tour my main message was for the attendees to look to their right and left to see who the leaders of the TPM are.
It's still true.

I know of the Tea Party Express, it is made up of a lot of recognizable groups from Conservative to Libertarian.
What the heck is the “Tea Party Federation”?

It would be helpful if TPX would avoid having their leaders try to be funny by invoking every racist stereotype they can think of, just to prove how “not racist” they are.
It’s not useful, and it just makes the rest of our jobs harder.

I cannot understand how some stupid accusation by one group can lead to the tea party people falling for the bait and adopting their lies as truth. But, hey, it worked. Props to the Left for that one.

"Therefore, effective immediately the National Tea Party Federation is expelling Tea Party Express from the ranks of our membership. Contact: Christina Botteri christina.k.bo@gmail.com 916-315-8989" CB has plans on being the new chief pig after the revolution.

My advice to Mark Williams and anyone else who wants to satirize the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is, unless your pen name is Mark Twain, dont do it.
They satirize themselves perfectly well every damned day and dont need our help.
Jealous and his racist/Marxist NAACP mob can KMA!!
I found this in my pings, Jim.
Yes Mark is good at many things but satire isn't his strong point. Leave it to Sam, I agree!
I think his little fiasco will in the end be good for the Tea Party Movement as it brings the racist separatist policies of the NAACP more to the main stream news venue.

Well, yea and a few other contemporary satirists. Like Coulter for instance but it's not really something she would satirize imo.

It is starting to backfire.. on the Tea Party Federation’s Facebook page, several local Tea Parties are leaving messages like this:
_____________________________________________
As Communications Director For the California Tea Party Posse, I am authorized so and do I hereby renounce all statements made by the National Tea Party Federation, as we do not recognize said organization having latitude to speak for our membership, our interaction with other Tea Party groups, Tea Party individuals, or having any consent to make statements regarding our own efforts to reclaim 10th amendment protections through our ballot initiative for the People of California.
In other words, I am authorized to make, for my group, a huge and disgusting Bronx cheer in the general direction of a certain Mr. David Webb.

I am certain the Reid/Pelosi/Obama forces are overjoyed to see dissension in the ranks.
The Dems often infiltrate and then work to divide and conquer. In this case the Federation is doing their work for them!!
Shame, shame, shame!

Didn’t Mark Williams say something really stupid on air about a year or so ago? I seem to remember that and lots of people here at FR saying “who the hell is Mark Williams?”
Maybe if he just shut up.
I do like it when he says I’m not the leader of the tea party, everyone is. Maybe if he just said that and then shut up it would help.

Yeah, but Tea Party Express (and a lot of others) joined the ‘federation’.
So they can thank themselves for supporting petty officialdom.

...my main message was for the attendees to look to their right and left to see who the leaders of the TPM are. You are exactly right here, and this is the main thing we all need to keep focused on going forward. Our movement starts at the local and county level and goes up from there. Our leadership starts from God, the founders, and our families and goes out from there. Even if we win back both houses of Congress for the GOP in November, if we then go back to blindly trusting our "leaders" (like we so foolishly have done in the past) then our beloved country will continue to be undermined by the same sort of self-seeking statists who have already lead us to the brink of insolvency.

"It seemed to start as a grassrots coalition" Well there's the problem right there. Rotten grass stinks from the beginning.
"I do like it when he says Im not the leader of the tea party, everyone is."
At some point though, leaders must, and will emerge. Those who wish to lead must demonstrate a clean past and unquestioned resistance to forces which will turn their heads when they are elected. Trent Lott has already said that when conservative people come to Washington D.C. they need to be co-opted. Conservative people need to go to Washington D.C. and punish the SOROS Republicans and sweep all Democrats from power forever.
