And why would it matter? Either way, they flew separately, which, IMO was unnecessary.
Does it matter. The aide could have flown coach, like the little people do. The only time2 I've flown first class has been when the flight was overbooked and they gave me a free upgrade. Even though I've been flying on business, mostly as a military contractor and a few times as military, off and on for 35 years, I can count the number of times that has happened on one hand.

I don't care about the extra nice dishes and real silverware, but I love the big seats and more leg room.
