Check out how skinny you can be and still be “healthy.” I’m also 5-9 and pushing 170. I’m obese. I can be 5-9 and 125 and be in the healthy norm. WTF? 125 would be ok for a 12-13 year old.

I am 6’0” and my wife is 5’2” - our “normal” BMI ranges actually overlap at 136.5 pounds. That is a weight she has never hit when not pregnant, and I have not been since maybe eighth grade. It would not be remotely healthy for either of us. BMI says rotund women are healthy, while slim men are overweight. At my height, for example, “overweight” begins at 185.

BMI, even if it were anybody’s business, is a meaningless number.

I think that the BMI standards included a significant number of smokers.

Obama, a smoker, will have no problem meeting the standard.

Neither will Ann Coulter.

But those of us who don’t smoke will have a more difficult time escaping the fascist dragnet.
