Gubernatorial Candidate Said Unemployed Want To Collect Checks.
the only ones that are upset are the ones milking the system for all its worth....
Personally I think Corbett was smart to say this. There is a silent majority of Pennsylvanians out there who know he is right. (my one neighbor, for example, a union member who seems to gear his life around maxing out his unemployment comp/sub-pay strategically around the occasional construction job. Generally those last just long enough for him to regain eligibility and repeat the process. The rest of us on the block who get up and slog our way through work every day appreciate what Corbett is saying.)

But the libtards will allow idiotPelosi to get away with saying the unemployment benefits blah, blah, blah BS all day long, huh? =.=
Agreed, especially given some of them having been drawing unemployment for .....96 weeks plus.....
She's actually had calls for interviews, but has turned them down because she is enjoying her time off. You should have heard the cursing when she discovered that they had not passed the unemployment extension. She is horrified by the idea that she might have to cut back on her cable or cell phone services, or *GASP* go find a job.
Another loser for the Dems. Already 52% agree with him and only 42% oppose.
The friend mentioned in my previous post has been “funemployed” since 2007, and collecting unemployment for most of it.
good frakin grief....wow. *shakeshead*
Right on....I have two next door to me on disability....this winter their car got stuck in fron of my house....I looked out the window and one ran down the street, came back with a shovel, and lickety-split he shoveled out the car...probably a car we tax-payers paid for, no less....
Corbett has been a relentless DA for Pennsylvania. My issue with Corbett that he said the Constitution was a living and breathing document.
WRONG! I wish I was there when he said it. I read that it drew gasps from the crowd.
You know, in different times, I could agree with you, never in my 52 years have I collected unemployment. Never, have I taken public money for assistance. But now, after the country has decimated the workforce fully realizing NAFTA/GATT, global treaties, etc. Unemployment and assistance have become a frightening necessity, at least in Pennsylvania.
I hear ths crap that the "unemployed" don't want to work. Baloney. I cover the whole Commonwealth from Erie to Philly and Easton to Greene County, never have I seen such scary times jobwise. Entire towns have closed up. My daughter works at Wendys, had her hours cut so people my age could get some hours.
The Government, people like Corbett, Rendell, Obama, the "establishment," have done nothing to assist the Taxpayer.
Rendell gives 17 million for Harley to stay in Pa., 4 months later Harley cuts 40% of its' workforce. Daltile cuts 75% of it's workforce, Hershey is moving the remainder of it's manufacturing down south, Musselmans has eliminated 50% of it's workforce and other companies are leaving the state and country altogether 'cause the taxes, environmental issues, OSHA regs, etc. are so outrgeously costly they can go overseas and ship back with no penaly whatsoever.
So, before those of you who are fortunate enough to have employment start pointing fingers, point them at the folks who took away our right to work, live and prosper.
Republicans, btw, are barking up the wrong tree by turning a deaf ear to the unemployed...it is now of true necessity..and since 3-400 bi-weekly is the average unemployment....tell me where i can vacation in Hatteras and pay my bills and baby I'm there!!
Absolutely, I have a friend who has been drawing unemployment for over 90 weeks and has no intention of looking for a job until it runs out. This is in Harrisburg, the capitol of Pa where the unemployment rate is the lowest in the state. Lot’s of jobs available here.

I can't speak for anyone else who is unemployed. In this case, however, I can tell you that this woman is not doing her best to look for a job and has turned down contacts because she is enjoying sitting at home watching the damn "View" while her husband busts his ass to support the two of them.
She is blowing her UI checks on day trips to the Jersey Shore and two week-long trips to the Outer Banks.
Is unemployment necessary? Absolutely -- as a stopgap. This woman has been collecting since September of 2007!
That is downright misinformation. They are moving 25% offshore and there is a contract in place for the rest for a minimum of 5 years.
