It's interesting to try to divine the chicken-and-egg of Mel Gibson's firing by WME last week: Was it his (first-alleged, now aurally proved) misogynistic and racist comments that enabled the agency to part ways with him, or was it the death of longtime agent Ed Limato that did the trick?
Earlier today the news surfaced that William Morris Endeavor had split with Gibson last week-- as Limato lay seriously ill, and just several days after Radar Online broke the news that Gibson had verbally abused his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva by using the N-word. (The reports were just that until today, when audio of the Gibson incident was released on Radar.)
There's of course a third variable in all this -- the fact that Gibson just wasn't much of a bankable star anymore anyway.

There’s lots of “derogatory” terms, especially now with all the PC crap.
I grew up in a city, inner city, and there were lots of “derogatory” slams...n*****, honkey, cracker, trailer trash, WOP, greaseball, medigan, other side of the tracks, etc. The only word we can’t say is the N word. Hell, we can’t even say the real word without being labeled a racist. All those other terms are still ok to say/type.

I find it disheartening in a way, that Mel Gibson’s words are all over the news, yet our Representatives criminal activity are given a pass by the media.

If I really allowed myself to dwell on the personal lives of the amoral liberal lowlives that constitute the vast, vast majority of Hollywood, I’d never see a movie.
Slavery was a mistake. That’s not a liberal belief. It’s a dark time in our history. It doesn’t matter that slavery existed for thousands of years, since the beginning of time, in all cultures/nations. It only matters to the world because the U.S. is being held responsible, responsible for the concept even. Yes slavery existed and more than 400,000 white men gave their lives fighting a war for it.
Yes, slavery existed and happened and continued in the U.S. It’s a dark time in our history. Our country was formed and our Constitution written, including slavery. We also defeated the so called “Native Americans” aka Indians. Shit happens and sometimes it ain’t good at the outset. However, I’m glad it happened. It’s a part of our history and the reason we are the nation we are today. I’m happy we defeated the indians and our nation became what it did.
And we, the people today, a couple hundred years later, are paying for that mistake because people like you refuse to see the whole picture. BECAUSE we are the country we are, we continue to allow this reparations crap. Eventually, the white guilt, the liberal guilt about our history will destroy this nation. The entitlement issue is huge. It’s spread from the whole “slavery” issue to include generations later. Those who never experienced any discrimination. 1864 til now 2010. It’s time to get the f over it already.
Now we have generations of people on welfare, feeling they are entitled to something.
My ancestors came here in the late 1800’s, way after the Civil War. They were legal immigrants. They, and I, don’t owe a damn thing to those who were here prior. I owe what I have to my ancestors who suffered and worked their asses off to make a life here. They didn’t have welfare or social services to help them.
Then again, I’m white so I don’t have a say about the hardships suffered...rme.

but even if it has paid for that “mistake,” it does not minimize that mistake or absolve America of slavery and placing African Americans in scientific experiments.
What scientific experiments do you know about that uses blacks as the only subjects?
And Slavery should never be scrubbing from our history books.
Neither should facts like most of the KKK were democrats. The liberal education agencies scrub a lot of history from the text books and our kids are being dumbed down to a level never seen before.
