IMO, the cleat in the chest early in the game should have been a red card. Ugly foul.

I thought this was a great game between two very tough teams. No, it wasn't pretty but neither is a 3-0 American football game between two defensive powerhouses.

This was a slugfest and the outcome was in doubt up until the last minute which is what makes the game so much fun.

Now that the “world” cup has ended, can we stop this “one world-global” game BS because Americans dont care about it in the 1st place?

Its not like it was the Super Bowl or anything. Soccer is baseball w/o the scoring.

Too many fouls and too many dives.

But one very nice goal.

Congrats Spain!

Better luck next time Holland.

I think it will be a sad day when the US becomes a soccer power house. Being good at soccer would be like being good at dancing around the may pole.

The important thing is - it’s finally over

Now that the Planet Mug is over, can I watch TV without having a swarm of bees in the background?

Anyone else notice that in a country dominated by blacks, there was only one child of arguably a black race that walked into the stadium with the players and that girl looked like she was bi-racial? One of the kids looked to be Asian.

Same goes for the women who carried in the medals for the players in the awards ceremony. Just one of the eleven or so ladies was not caucasian; and she was also bi-racial.

Does FIFA select this participants; or does the host nation?

Great to see Spain win with real Spanish players....some of the other European countries (e.g. France) have bought into the “black athletes are superior” myth and field teams that don’t look European at all......the French/African team went home early....so much for superiority.
