You are a Dreamer. The Republican Party is so screwed up, they will use the Tea Party People to get in office, then vote the same way the Democrats do and destroy the country.

Don’t forget, I live in Illinois.....The Illinois Republican Party IS the one who gave you Barack Obama. With the disgraceful job the Democrats have at running our state the Republicans cannot capitalize.
I think your bitterness is misplaced. We recently had a very important primary in my congressional district to decide the republican candidate to challenge a democrat incumbent. A whopping 7.2% of registered voters cast their votes. I personally observed one polling place and it was senior citizens only who were voting. Voter apathy is your enemy, not the party.

Many would not. Even though I’ve almost given up all hope for a real conservative in my state, sometimes I get a bit optimistic. If they can do it in Jersey, we can do it here.
But that only lasts about 6 months, and then its torn down again when I see the way they all knock each other down to be the first to “reach across the isle” as they embrace every gay or affirmative action agenda that comes across.
I have yet to see an Illinois rep or congresscritter who is more afraid of his own supporters than he/she is of being labeled a racist, or a gay-hater, woman-hater, etc.
Our congressmen need to learn the old “sticks and stones” adage.

Step 1 is to kill motor voter, and require proof of citizenship to get a voter card, and provide an ID at the polling place. I just don’t see that happening.
And yes, my biggest fear is that after elections, the Tea Party will be ridiculed by jackasses that they propelled into office. It’s the republican way to bite the hand that feeds you. Or rather, they get elected and find that there are better hands to feed them.
I really like Newt bringing back the “Contract with America” idea. I’d like to see some of these folks sign a contract like that before I toss a single dime their way, or once again get fooled into standing at a train station handing out fliers, only to be embarrassed in a years time by their actions.
