Governor Palin's Plan for Illegal Aliens (vanity)
07/09/2010 | sinanju

Posted on 07/09/2010 8:33:42 PM PDT by sinanju

My opinion of Sarah just took a dent. She was on Bill O'Reilly's show and he quizzed her about her opinion, in his overbearing fashion, on how to deal with the illegal alien problem.

I'm afraid it seemed instantly obvious that either she has not spent five minutes looking into the issue and talking to people who actually know something about the problem or she has and is keeping her real plans secret a la Chris Christie.

She did not bring up any specifics or actual ideas and plans and basically let Blowhard Bill lead her around by the nose for seven minutes. They then concluded with some meaningless cheery sentiments about the mama grizzlies and concluded. BOR moved on.

I realize she is busy building up chits playing kingmaker and tweeting and all that but I would like to at least see and hear some evidence that she is doing some serious policy formulation and (if she does run for prez) will have a battle plan on day one.

Appearing on Bill's show for barely enough time to smile and chirp for less than ten minutes is decidedly discouraging to people like myself, who desperately want to take her seriously.

"So you've closed the borders, now you have ten million people sitting here looking at you, what are you going to do about them?" "Make them register?"

"Well, I, uh.."

She should not have set herself up like that. Bill barely gave her enough time to recite the Pledge of Allegiance but she could have gotten her message across if she had had a message.

Not good.

” I’m not a McCain fan, but saying something like that is just plain stupid.

Being stuck on stupid is no excuse. She clearly doesn’t support amnesty. “

There is no interview, no evidence that Palin is not for amnesty. Calling Donna stupid for giving you a direct quote, is what is REALLY stupid.

I’m not so sure “dent”. But I’m thinking that she should avoid O’Reilly as much as she would Katie ... both are going to use their platform to destroy her and aggrandize themselves.

How about this guy?

The FReepers have sponsored several rallies at our nation's Capitol. The first was the nationally televised “March for Justice” on October 31, 1998, where Congressman Bob Barr called for the impeachment of President William Jefferson Clinton. The enthusiastic crowd of 4,000 FReepers also enjoyed rousing speeches by Alan Keyes, Larry Klayman, Gary Aldrich and other great conservatives. The MFJ was a moving experience for all.

Congressman Barr called the FReepers back to Washington on December, 5th, 1998, for the “Judgment Day” rally, held on the Capitol steps. He and many other conservative speakers urged the Congress to vote for impeachment. According to Barr and several other Congressmen, these rallies, coupled with ads we ran in the Washington Times, and the resulting surge of grassroots activism, helped to move some of the reluctant Congressmen to vote for impeachment.

We were cosponsors with the Free Congress Foundation for the “House Managers Tribute” rally and dinner honoring the House Managers on May 4th, 1999, at the Washington Hilton and Towers. All thirteen House Managers, plus Congressman Tom DeLay and many other conservative notables attended. Henry Hyde and Steve Forbes were our keynote speakers. Alan Keyes, Larry Klayman, Congressmen Bob Barr, James Rogan and Chris Cannon and many other conservative leaders spoke at the rally.

We used to support a lot of known conservatives.

And they supported us.

Before the moral high-horses rode in here we even supported Gingrich. And Ron Paul was as respected almost as much as Ron Reagan. And ole GW Bush was called a cokehead by the site owner. Wee Willy Kristol was called the globalist neo-con that he is by the majority here then...And nation building wars were frowned on severely. If conservatism means the preservation of conservative institutions and the ideas that created them...we must ask if we have wandered off that path.

” PALIN: Then let’s keep it — then we won’t complicate it anymore. Let’s keep it simple. And let’s say no, if you are here illegally, and if you don’t follow the steps that at some point through immigration reform, we’re going to be able to provide, and that is to somehow allow to you work. If you’re not going to do that, then you will be deported. You will be gone.”

This proves she is for amnesty.

I can’t watch Palin that much because she has a tendency to just fill the air with a bunch of nonsense words as if she is buying time, trying to find the right answer. Illegal immigration has been a burning issue for years. The fact she was not ready to answer the question of what is to be done with the illegals that are already here is lame. I saw the show and she was avoiding the question, sorry to disagree with the Palin apologists here.

The real answer to that question is going to sound cruel to some people but here it is. Kick their kids out of the schools, throw them out of their jobs, deny free health care beyond critical care, and cut off all government services. If this were done in a consistent manner illegals would self-deport by the millions. Take the Arizona concept nationwide and do even more.

I like Sarah generally, she pisses off all the right people and her detractors force me to root for her. She knows how to draw a crowd and could raise money for the cause. But we already had a guy for 8 years that couldn’t make a compelling case for conservative principals even though that case can easily be made.

Palin talks in vague generalities, constantly repeats herself, and STILL doesn’t understand the issues in enough detail to convince the 10’s of millions of people who don’t find her credible to give her a chance. We need political leaders who don’t require others to constantly come to their defense because they lack the gravitas to make their case. We need to go beyond repeating phrases like “common sense solutions” endlessly and having no detail to back that up.

Amnesty without even a background check.

Here’s what she advocated:

1. Do whatever it takes to secure the border - employing as many troops as necessary to secure the border while the fence is completed.
2. Give illegals a time period to register their presence.
3. Those who do not register will be deported.
4. Regarding those who register, anyone here must be employed. Registration is not the same thing as amnesty. She referenced the number of American citizens who are currently unemployed and stated that Americans must have the first opportunity to fill those jobs.
5. She did not support amnesty. She said we must learn from Reagan’s mistakes.

It is ridiculous to think you will get an explicit plan from anyone in a 5 minute interview. “Whatever it takes” is a whole lot better than “we can’t.”

She did just fine, its all about priority and she will sent whatever it takes to secure the border, after that is said and done most illegals will flee anyway as they have been shown to since Arizona started the new law.

There is no set firm strategy for a complete solution, she has the right answer, after that its the determination that follows, what too many people have is the lack of respect for her because of what she represents, she is a commoner, she isn’t an elite. And trying to micromanage Sarah Palin just won’t work, anybody that offers a detailed step by step solution is naive, it will only evolve by first showing force in numbers after that it will behave like a tall tree thats been precisely cut to make it fall in a certain direction.

She will do what Obama won’t, I support her totally because at least she WILL do something.

1. Do whatever it takes to secure the border - employing as many troops as necessary to secure the border while the fence is completed.

She wouldn't give any hint of how many people she would put on the border or how the fence would be "completed."

2. Give illegals a time period to register their presence.

Register to stay. Amnesty.

3. Those who do not register will be deported.

If we can't deport anyone now, how will we be able to deport anyone then? Makes no sense.

4. Regarding those who register, anyone here must be employed.

They need a green card to work. Is Palin proposing to automatically issue a green card to every illegal who asks for one?

Registration is not the same thing as amnesty.

Wrong. How is it different?

She referenced the number of American citizens who are currently unemployed and stated that Americans must have the first opportunity to fill those jobs.

What does that mean? How would that work?

5. She did not support amnesty.

Any illegal alien who files for amnesty gets to stay. Any illegal alien who registers to stay gets to stay.

Same thing.

It is ridiculous to think you will get an explicit plan from anyone in a 5 minute interview.

She could have referenced her explicit plan. Oh, wait, there isn't one.

That, my overly pugdy stooge, is called being stuck on stupid. She's spoken against amnesty in every interview since her book tour, and that's a lot of them. She was the first major figure to support the Az law.

Are you really that light in the loafers?

Just listen to the interview tonight, she say's it straight out twice. I know you're kind of ingrown, but really, get a life, get out more....

It'll really help.

Ron Richardson: Yeah? Are you gonna make it all 220?
Jack Butler (Mr. Mom): Yeah. 220... 221, whatever it takes.

” But as I said : Sarah Palin was 100% supportive of Arizona law and Brewer from the beginning and deserves credit for it. “

That is because the fraud, lying POS McCain is for it in order to get re elected.

Deport whom? Criminal aliens or all illegal aliens? McCain is in favor of deporting all criminal aliens but giving the rest of them a path to citizenship.

Whatever it takes, it was the right thing to say.

Unfortunately the left, the elitists, the Muslim crowd and especially those that are in the mindset that some parts of the USA belong to Mexico really do not want to hear those words.

Anything less than “Whatever it takes” won’t do it.

This is exactly what America is supposed to do and has done before, and what isn’t happening while Obama pretends to be a Holiday Inn President.
