Is there any limit to the cruelty of the American conservative? These vicious sadists take great delight in harming people and reveling in their suffering, or so says Amanda Marcotte, noted expert on wha? huh? look over there!
The pleasure of sadism as [sic] always been a driving force behind movement conservatism. Theyve always taken a great deal of pleasure in attacking peoples livelihoods for the hell of it, as I know all too well. Theyre [sic] always enjoyed sending a message that those who comfort the afflicted and afflict the powerful should expect pain and even ruin.
All that said, I think theres a reason to think that sadism for its own sake is on the rise within conservative ranks.
Amanda Marcotte is the editor of the blog Pandagon and author of two books on feminism and progressive politics. Her first book was so progressive it had to be reprinted after outraged readers called for a boycott over racially offensive illustrations.
Lets take a look at how Amanda defines mindless sadism and cruelty.
Sadistic and cruel: Conservative bloggers and journalists quoting her writing.
These mindless sadists published examples of Amandas religious bigotry, forcing her to resign from her cushy gig as a blogger for John Edwards presidential campaign. (Being quoted verbatim is so mean and unfair!)

Most of us following the DukeLax case had migrated to TalkLeft, Jeralyn Merritt’s blog. She and Amanda were big buddies, so when it came out she was Edwards’ blogatrix, we piled on.
Jeralyn began whining we were being “unfair” so we showed her Amanda’s handiwork. IIRC, we caused enough trouble for her so that Edwards had to cut her loose.
Twins?
Eerie. Maybe she came back from the future to warn herself how crazy she would become, but accidently got hired by a University through affirmative action.
I’ll bet her arm pits look like the Amazon on a humid day.
I’ve made this point before.
Overly protective mother decides she will carry her newborn instead of facing the risk of letting the child learn to walk. Fast forward 5 years.
Who is cruel now?
Subaru owner.
I wonder what the stats are on that? It seems whenever I've come up on a Subaru, invariably it's plastered with trendy lib slogans. My wife thinks I'm exaggerating, but I've noticed multiple lib decals on many Subarus. Or maybe just small cars period.
Amanda Marcotte is an idiot stuck on stupid maximus.....I mean geezus, lets talk about the driving force behind liberalism, kk, Amanda....
Communism - Stalin = 20+ million murdered and killed
Socialism - Hitler = 6+ million murdered and killed
Maoism - Mao = 30+ million murdered and killed
Let’s not forget....
Soros = the money behind many liberal organizations; part and parcel of Crime, Inc, and a Nazi idiot
Gore = Globla Warming (AGW) SCAM artist
Ayers = terrorist
Gosh damn list can go on and on.
Methinks Amanda Marcotte needs to shut the hell up and come back to reality from the land of unicorn and rainbow dreams....=.=
Subaru actively markets their cars to the “alternative lifestyle” crowd.
Green Forester = flaming
Good catch! I knew she looked like someone but that resemblance is unbelievable.
>That would be the completely disavow any governmental responsibility for the poor and needy, all taxes are theft, as well as the shoot the child for a pack of gum crowd.
Ok, we have three claims here.
1) Government ‘charity’ is good. Given the results we’ve seen over time, any rational person would have a hard time believing this. Government welfare programs are notoriously corrupt and inefficient. One is not hard hearted to not favor such waste. They also tend to inculcate a sense of dependency and destroy personal initiative.
2) Taxes are theft- when taxes follow the patter of ‘robbing Peter to pay Paul’, then they are theft. The providing of services to a subset of the population with tax money is nothing but corrupt. A general benefit, like police, courts, or national defense are different.
3) That last bit is stupid hyperbole.
I find both an individual mandate to help the poor as well as a mandate to government to help the poor in scripture.
Dan 4:27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.
Pro 29:14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
Jer 22:15 Shalt thou reign, because thou closest [thyself] in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, [and] then [it was] well with him? Jer 22:16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then [it was] well [with him: was] not this to know me? saith the LORD.
If "We the people" want to reign, we can not turn a blind eye to the poor. That's not saying that our programs couldn't be run more efficiently, have more incentives to discourage laziness, and eliminate much waste and corruption.
There are those that point to the waste as an excuse to claim all aid should be ended. And then there are those who claim all aid is wrong whether or not there is waste. Both are wrong.
Rom 13:6 For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Rom 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute [is due]; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
